My name is Kelly Garrison, and I am thrilled to teach a Tuesday/Thursday 2 year old class and a Monday/Wednesday/Friday 3 year old class at Grow Preschool. I graduated from James Madison University in Virginia with a BA in Early Childhood Education, Summa Cum Laude. I taught kindergarten in Maryland for 5 years. During that time I was named as one of ten Kindergarten Reading Teachers of the Year for Montgomery County Public Schools, and served on a committee that developed strategies for successful reading instruction in the kindergarten year. In 2005, I moved to North Carolina for my husband’s job. We planned to try to start a family, so I did not seek employment with Wake County Public Schools. However, I quickly found that I deeply missed teaching little ones, so I opened a Mommy’s Morning Out/Early Preschool Program in my home. In 2006, we had our first son, Brady, and our second son, Cody, completed our family in 2008. As my own boys are getting older, I have decided that after ten years, it is time for me to close my home preschool and give the space back to them. I am thrilled that Julia Beam welcomed me into the Grow family! I can’t wait to meet your precious children and watch them learn and GROW in our class!
